Air Traffic Control system update

The technical problem impacting our flight planning system this morning has been located and fixed.

We are currently coordinating closely with airports and airlines to manage the impacted flights as effectively as we can.

As we resume regular operations, our engineers will closely monitor the system's performance.

Due to the flight planning difficulty, the system was unable to process flight plans automatically, so flight plans had to be processed manually. Since this cannot be done at the same volume, traffic flow limits were necessary.

Our top concern is always ensuring the safety of every flight in the UK, and we truly apologize for the inconvenience this is creating. For details on how this might effect your flight, kindly contact your airline.

The technical problem this morning is preventing us from automatically processing flight plans.

Flight plans are currently being entered manually, which prevents us from processing them at the same rate. Until our engineers find a solution, we have thus implemented traffic flow limits.

In order to fix this as soon as possible, our technical experts are investigating every option.
