THE PRICE IS RIGHT' Bob Barker Dead at 99

The legendary American game show host and animal rights campaigner Bob Barker has passed away, according to TMZ.

Barker passed away quietly on Saturday morning in Los Angeles at home. TMZ is told by his rep that Bob passed away naturally.

The famed producer Ralph Edwards heard Bob's radio show and hired him for TV, which is how the longtime presenter of "The Price Is Right" got his start in game shows.

Barker began his career presenting the legendary hit "Truth or Consequences" in 1956, a role he held up until 1975.

Over the years, he also hosted a variety of other game shows and events, including "The Price is Right," which he developed and hosted until 2007. He also presented "Dream Girl of '67," "Tattletales," "Miss Universe," and other series.

Over the years, Barker has made numerous other TV shows and movies, frequently starring as himself.

In "Happy Gilmore," he got into an altercation with Adam Sandler, substituted for Neil Patrick Harris' biological father in "How I Met Your Mother," and appeared in numerous other television programs, including "Futurama," "Spongebob," "The Nanny," "Martial Law," and many others.

He had several minor bouts of skin cancer over the years, and suffered a nasty fall in in 2015 and 2017 that sent him to the ER. He fell again in 2019, and was treated once more at the hospital.
